These values of religious and political freedom, free enterprise capitalism, democratic government, and respect for other's rights are violently rejected by those who have set themselves in battle to destroy our culture and civilization. This book will explore the nature of the "War Against Terrorism" that has now been launched by the Western nations against those who desperately attacked and killed over six thousand innocent men, women, and children on September 11, 2001. The only "crime" of these thousands of citizens in the sight of the terrorists was that they were citizens of the United States of America. The six thousand innocent victims included citizens from over seventy nations including Christians, Jews, Muslims, and those of other faiths. The 19 radical Islamic assassins did not care about their victims beliefs, their politics, religion, or race. The terrorists' goal was simply to kill the largest number of innocent Americans possible to create fear, terror, and confusion within the citizens as well as in the political leadership of the West. Their ultimate goal is clearly spelled out in the 1996 Declaration of War against the West issued by the terrorist leader Osmana Bin Ladin. Their goal is the physical and moral destruction of the Western nations as well as all of the governments in the Islamic world such as Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. The terrorist groups Islamic Jihad and Al Queda united under the leadership of Osmana Bin Ladin are determined to overthrow all governments in the world and replace them with extreme fundamentalist Islamic governments similar to the fanatic Taliban regime in Afghanistan. Their ultimate goal is the forced conversion (convert or die) of everyone on earth to their extreme Islamic faith. These extremist goals and the methods of the terrorist Islamic fundamentalists are rejected by an overwhelming majority of those hundreds of millions who follow the faith of Islam throughout the world. However, the unrelenting propaganda against the West and against the Jews has motivated a whole generation of Muslims throughout the world to express a certain degree of sympathy for these outrageous and immoral attacks on our citizens. It is essential that moderate Muslim governments suppress the despicable and evil attacks on the West and upon the Jewish people to enable their population to accept the right of other nations and other faiths to exist in freedom as well as their own right to experience the religious rights.
For the last eighteen years the extremist fundamentalist Islamic terrorists have enjoyed two decades of unparalleled victories against the Western nations without paying the price for their outrageous terrorist attacks. Beginning with the terrible bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Lebanon in 1983, killing hundreds of marines, forcing them to leave that nation. The Islamic terrorists have experienced a series of victories because the West had not yet awakened to the true nature and deadly reality of the war to the death between extremist Islamic radicals and the values of all those who defend our western nations and freedom. The list of victories for the terrorists includes: the brutal massacre of 18 U.S. soldiers in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993; the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993; the attacks on U.S. troop barracks in Saudi Arabia, the bombing of two American embassies in Africa on August 7, 1998, the terrorist attack on the destroyer U.S.S. Cole on Oct. 12, 2000, and the unprecedented destruction of the twin towers of the World Trade Center and its associated towers on September 11, 2001 together with the simultaneous attack on the Pentagon in Washington. The incredibly heroic actions of the passengers and Flight 93 from Newark, N.J., to San Francisco saved us from another flying bomb hitting the White House or some other vital target such as Camp David, or the President's plane, Air Force One.
These terrorists have declared war on every one of us who believe in freedom and democracy. It is vital that we respond to this "wake up call" and realize that we are now engaged in an unprecedented war "to the death" between the forces of Islamic terrorism who have declared war against those who embrace religious and political freedom as well as those Christians and Jews who are "the people of the Book."
This war against international terrorism is a war directed at the tens of thousands of extremist Islamic terrorists who have launched hundreds of terrorist attacks against Western interests in the last three decades. It is not a war against worldwide Islam. The available evidence suggests that less than one tenth of one percent of those who are Muslims are part of the fanatical and extremist groups who support and give their lives to the terrorist attacks by Bin Ladin and his numerous associated groups including Hamas, Egypt's Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, and numerous other terrorist groups. The vast majority of the hundreds of millions of Muslims who follow the faith of Mohammed reject the fanatical terrorists and their determination to destroy the West. Many Islamic clergy have publicly rejected the terrorists beliefs and have stated that they are in violation of the genuine teachings of Islam. Millions of innocent Islamic people have freely chosen to migrate to the western nations to enjoy our political and religious freedom as well as our prosperity. The truth is that these Islamic Jihad fundamentalist terrorists pose a much greater and more violent threat to the Arab Islamic governments of the Middle East (Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, etc.) than they do to either Israel, western governments, or the United States of America. The terrorist cells of Osmana Bin Ladin attempted to assassinate Egypt's president Mubarak in 1995 and tried to assassinate the Muslim president of Tajikistan (just north of Afghanistan) in 1999. Only two days before the devastating terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington on September 11, 2001 Bin Laden provided a service to his Afghanistan Taliban hosts by sending two of his suicide bomb terrorists to interview the popular leader of the anti-Taliban forces, general Massoud, the head of the Northern Alliance. Under the disguise of pretending to be African-Arab journalists desiring to interview Massoud, these terrorists triggered bombs hidden in their clothing to kill this brave Afghanistan leader as well as themselves. Bin Ladin has also declared war against all Arab and Islamic governments that refuse to embrace his extreme and diabolical hatred of the West and the Jewish state of Israel.
War Against Terror - Unfolding Bible Prophecy will explore the nature and history of both the nations and the terrorist groups that have now declared all out war to the death against the values and vision of America and the nations of the West who suppprt religious freedom and democracy for all citizens. We will examine the history and activities of these terrorist groups as well as the powerful alliance of nations that will now bring all of the financial, diplomatic, police, and military forces of the civilized world against these groups of Islamic terrorists that desire to destroy our way of life. We must not despair nor surrender to fear. Fear is the precise goal of these terrorists. If they can induce us to change the pattern of our lives, restrict our political freedoms, and alter our Middle East foreign policy; then they will have obtained a significant measure of success toward their ultimate goal to destroy our Western culture.
This book will explore the numerous prophecies found in both the Old and New Testament that predict a time of unparalleled fear and terror in the days leading up to the triumphant return of Jesus Christ to establish His Kingdom of God upon earth forever. The Lord specifically warned that humanity would experience an unusual time of trouble in the last days. Jesus prophesied that it would be a frightening time: "Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken" (Luke 21:26). Fortunately, Christ concluded His prophecy with the positive prediction that these troubled times would be an unmistakable sign of the approaching Second Coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Lord promised His followers: "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth near" (Luke 21:28). The apostle Paul wrote to the Church and declared: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7).
In other words, instead of being filled with fear, those who follow Jesus Christ should recognize these remarkable prophetic events as unmistakable signs of the soon coming of our Messiah to set up His eternal kingdom of righteousness on earth forever. While we are naturally filled with concern for the physical safety of our family, ourselves, and our nations, we need to realize that a time of unparalleled troubles was prophesied to occur throughout the globe in the time preceding the glorious and triumphant return of Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Hosts. We should recognize the clear teaching of Christ through the inspired words of the apostle Paul: "Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). When we are confronted by dangers to both our nation as well as our families we need to realize that our lives are in the supernatural hand of Jesus Christ. Nothing can happen to those who love our Lord unless He permits it to occur because it is part of His divine will. In the book of Hebrews we find this encouraging message: "So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." (Hebrews 13:6).
